Okay then.....Edith and I wandered into the Oakland Air Museum yesterday...nice facility, although like a lot of "local" museums, seems to need money badly as well as signage....
We were also impressed that WAM had a room dedicated to control line and WAM activities....
I found the map that was in the room a bit confusing....
Can anyone let me know what steps were taken to obtain the site?
How frequently is it utilized?

Rich: Osborne park is used primarily on weekends, in the morning before the sea breeze kick in over Mount Trashmore which is adjacent to it.  A good place to find info on it is Heman Lee's "Aeromaniacs" web site.  Heman now lives in Sacramento but was a protoge of Bill Osborne and keeps in touch with the club that is centered around it.  Among other things they have a very popular "Musciano" contest every year.

My buddy and I were at the Calif. State Champs in 1989 Bill taught my son to solo on a Cox PT-19 while we were there.  Remember it and him well.

I fly at Osborne field most weekends. Home of the Aer-O-Nuts. There are also a number of people that fly there on Wednesday mornings.

The field has been in existence since the 50's. Bill Osborne got it going (hence the name) he did a lot of work with kids to get them into flying. Sadly he passed away a few years ago. It is maintained by the Alameda Parks and Recreation Department with help from those of us that fly there. It's a nice control line site without any noise restrictions and on the weekends we usually have anywhere from 10 to 20 people flying. Stunt, carrier, race, sport, combat, 1/2A, you name it. Come out and join us.

We are having a SWAP MEET on April 19th (Sunday). Anything model airplane. Sellers $5.00, buyers Free. Bring your own table and sell off your unwanted equipment or buy that special deal you might see there.

I remember talk about the museum years ago and this past summer I went into the one very close to the flying field at the airport thinking that was the one , it was very close to whare the monthly WAM meetings was held , asked about it and nobody knew about it , was I at the right place ?
