TOWER made good on my lost order! They did the right thing.

They reshipped late last week and I got it today.

Well they are basically correct. USPS doesn't track, unless you pay for it.

I mean what do you expect? They hand it over to USPS and there isn't anything they can do. Why you are blaming them isn't at all obvious to me.

I have nothing against the USPS. Who knows why it hasn't been delivered---I normally get things from Tower pretty fast. And I heate to remind you that tomorrow (Monday) is Columbus Day! HB~>

They should be helping me "the customer" get my package. Not be part of the problem.

Maybe they should not offer the use USPS if this is a common problem.

I haven't had any problems with them either.  So far all my orders have been delivered in a week or less.

I've always had good luck with them. I think they should do better for you than just throw on the USPS and
disavow any responsibility. Granted, the economy is in the toilet and Tower is probably feeling the pinch, too.
But in the spirit of customer relations they should either send you another one or credit you back the price of
the thing(s) you ordered.

Just my 2 cents.

I ran a small business for 11 years with a mail order component before retiring. Legal issues asside, I feel it is the vendors responsibility to ensure that their customer receives what they ordered (in good condition) and it is the customer's responsibility to pay for the insurance involved. When something gets lost or damaged in the mail it takes a while to settle a claim but that's just part of doing biz. Look after your customers or they will quickly desert you, and bad news travels fast over the Internet. BTW, it also pays to have a little patience regarding delivery of goods.

I too have never had a problem with them either.  I have had an order take almost two weeks, but, I blame our postal system for that.  So have a little patience.  DOC Holliday

  I have ordered from Tower in the past. USPS shipment from them to me is 7 to 10 days. Add a couple for Columbus Day and it is 7 to 12 days. Patience, all good things come to those who wait. I am not the biggest fan of USPS.

I always get 3-day service from Tower (and Balsa USA) +/- one day.

Some of those delivery services won't leave a valuable package on the porch if you're not home (and then again, some will).

In these trying times even USPS is feeling the crunch loosing millions of customers because of the Internet and other carriers.  I would venture to guess that they also are trying for better service so they can keep people coming back to use there services.  Sometimes though it seems they don't care when you have a problem.  I agree with Dennis in his post above. USPS is hit and miss though.  One day you can't believe how fast you received your items and other days you think were the H E  DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS is my Stuff.  It is human nature to blame the shipper but once it leaves their hands it is anyones guess.  I do agree that the shipper should do their utmost to make there customer happy even though it might be the carriers fault.

Here's one for the stranger than fiction crowd.  I live in a semi-rural neighborhood with several dogs and no leash law.  For that and other reasons I do not wish to have packages left on my porch.  Who wants Rover to mistake your new goody for his new chew toy?  I usually request USPS delivery because they seldom leave anything on the porch.  If a package is to large for the mailbox they leave a card telling me I can pick it up at the post office.  I recently placed an order with a book retailer.  Believe it or not, they FED EXed the package to my local post office and the post office then delivered it to my house.  Full tracking right up to the local post office.

It is my understanding tht USPS has not used commercial airlines as carriers for mail since 9/11. I asked who is handeling the shipping of their packages and was told Fed X, go figure. Straight from the postmasters mouth.

Even though I'm near the end of the world (well, you CAN see it from here), I've never had any trouble at all with Tower. They sent me the wrong thing once. I called them and had it resolved in about 15 minutes. Very cool. Stuff usually arrives very quickly since they have a warehouse in Seattle. If they have the part there, I usually get it in a day or two at most. If it has to come from the mid-west or their Reno warehouse, it's usually here in between 3 and 10 days depending on the distance it has to travel.

I have always got great service from Tower in the past. Less then a week.

When I sent Tower an email asking for help, I got a response that it was not there problem. When I replied to that email with a "thanks for nothing" and I think I will tell a few thousend of my internet friends ( with the exception of a few) Tower is no changed there tune.

I now have the option of a refund or a re-ship of my order. Because today was a holiday for the USPS, I will give them a few more days. I hope it shows up, but it ani't looking to good. My order was placed on the 28th. That was 14 days ago!

I will update this thread if I get my package.

Nice to know they will now willing to help the customer. y1

I feel for you.  I am waiting for three packages that are from 12 to 16 days old.

I once had a strange experience with USPS.  We have the mail boxes set up in clusters in our housing development.  There are two 16 individual boxes in solid frame setups with two large boxes between them.  When you receive a package too big for the regular mail box, they put it in one of the big boxes and place the key for the big box in your regular mail box. 

Good idea except when the KEY gets put in the wrong box. I had a lady walk up to my front door on a Sunday afternoon and hand me a package.  She said she receives very little mail so she only checks her box about once a week.  I wonder how long my package was held up because the Mail Carrier put the key in the wrong box.

Did you use a charge card?  If so simply write a letter to them telling them you got charged for something you did not get and they will take it off your bill and charge it back to Tower.

I placed a very small order with Tower a few weeks ago. The package was shipped within days and still have not see it.
I contacted Tower and they said becaused  I shipped it USPS that it is not there problem.

I will give it a few more days but if I do not see it this week, it's my last order from Tower.

Anyone else had this happen from Tower?

Ordered an OS.46LA Thursday evening and got it this morning, Tuesday, Arkansas. (USPS PRI) I can't remember the last time a shippmnet from them got screwed up.  D>K

Check at your local post office(where the letter carrier gets the mail).  I just had an order I sent that sat at the post office for a week because the little "notice of delivery" tag got bollixed up.  Not much they can do if nobody sees the notice of delivery tag, or it gets lost, or whatever.

USPS is indeed a strange animal.  On the 26th of Aug. I sent 2 engines to customers in Louisianna and Florida.  These were sent from Vancouver BC using what Canada Post calls Express mail.  I had tracking numbers for both packages.  A few day later I used the Canada Post site and inserted the tracking numbers.  Both showed that the packages had arrived in the US.  A few days later I checked again and the one to LA showed it at arrived at the Zip Code and was delivered to the customer and the one to FL showed it had arrived at the Zip Code on the 1st of Sept.  About a week into September the FL customer e-mailed me to ask about the engine and I said I figured he had received it as it was in FL on the 1st.  Another week went by and no engine.  I started an inquiry with Canada Post and they contacted the USPS.  The package was finally delivered on the 18th of Sept.

Yea, USPS can be weird. I regularly order stuff from New Zealand. Usually takes 4 days (once in awhile 5) to get from Auckland to the US then anywhere from a couple of days to 6 weeks to make it to my house. I have no idea why.
