This news saddens me. Mr. Bill was the first person I PMd here several years back.

Sorry to hear this. My son Robby and I met Bill and Aaron at the 1993 Nats in Lawrenceville, Illinois, and we became good friends for years. Condolences to Aaron and all of Bill's family.

My condolences to the family.
I always wondered what happened to “Big Bear” as his was known here as.
We had swapped items and messages over the years. I took a break for a while and when I returned he was not here.
Super nice guy.
RIP Big Bear.

Never got to meet Bill in person, just in conversations here on SH and in a couple phone calls. He was a good man, someone who surely made a difference. God speed old friend, prayers and peace for his family.

Bill and Aaron were a team, not unlike my father and I. We always shared that bond at contests. You were a great person Bill! Godspeed my friend, and I hope you get to finish all your building projects in heaven.
Aaron, I hope you know that your dad was loved by many people, and we truly hurt for your loss. Our most sincere condolences to you and your family.

I'm sorry to hear this and send thoughts and prayers to the family. When I moved to the Raleigh, NC area several years ago, Bill was one if the first flyers I met. He was beyond welcoming and helpful; those terms aren't adequate. I've been in touch with Aaron off and on in recent years, hoping to hear things were looking up for Bill and that he'd be back.
He was apparently needed elsewhere.

Aaaaw, this hurts. Bill was the one who came up with the title for our Fellowship of Christian Modelers back in '95 when we formed. We had such good times at the nats a couple of times. Ask Aaron about their soaking when my tent collapsed during a rainstorm. Bill was so gracious that time, as always. I will always be humbled and honored that he called me "Little bear." Absolutely one of God's finest! Gotta go, my screen is getting blurry.

... He was beyond welcoming and helpful; those terms aren't adequate. ...
I only knew him here on the forums, and that was what I saw and felt from him.

I restored 7 old ignition engines and made up a test box for them a few years ago, for Bill, but I do not believe he ever had a chance to run them. If I remember correctly he was in bad health back then. Condolences to his family for their loss. It is never easy. Rest in peace Bill.
