Gentlemen, I have noticed that only a few of the OT ships that we fly today where actually kitted back in the day. The Ringmaster of course and the Zilch's, The Barnstormer, the All American, and so on. These where kitted. I am asking you all to list some more that where kitted. Do not bother to tell me that models not kitted are still eligible for OTS. I already know this. Thanks guys have some fun with this.

This is the most complete list of OTS airplanes I know of. You can tell a lot of the time if the airplane was kitted.

I am with Jim here. The first Nobler kit I know of was the 1957 Top Flite Green Box kit.

From Sterling was the Yak 9 and P-51.

From Kenhi was the P-51

And I *think* PDQ also kitted a profile P-51 almost identical to the Sterling kit

Some of the Veco kits have been mentioned (Smothie, Papoose, ---) the list also includes the Scout, chief, squaw. Warrior, Brave.

American Model Entineering Co. (Johnny Casburn) -- Mis Behave, Little Cut-Up, Big Cut-Up, Super Over Easy, Over-Easy Jr.

Mercury Model Airplane Co - Flipper

Two versions, large and small, of the J.C. Yates Madman were available in kit form.

Berkeley Zilch came in three sizes - Mini, Lil-Duper, and Super-Duper.

The KENHI series - (Mustang already listed) Wildcan, Bobcat, and Couger

The Dave Day listing already posted above will probably have the most extensive listing of OTS kits, including those from Europe.

I sold the kit of the Guided Star that I had. Do not remember the name of manufacturer. Tom Farmer had the first one I built and I still have the second one in the shop.

ya forgot the most famous. everyone but me built one the Berkley P-40!! there was the zilch -X (expendable) 6 year old Dennis Alford(my Nemesis) won the Nat's Jr stunt with in Early 50s . ken hi panther and of course the barnstormer that demenco sport wing had a forward swept leading edge not a good fl yer neither was the halest. can't recall the biplane wing... (mushy) always tumbled when landing. one more entry Bill Warner's' strat-o-cat Jim AMA 15452 <-- old number, got it in 1952 got it back in 2013.

The Zilch X and the Zilch X-pendable are two different airplanes. I don't think the Zilch X was kitted in the day, though it is PAMPA OTS legal. The X-pendable, in spite of my best efforts, is not OTS legal.

There were several different kits of the Sky Box, including a Combat Sky Box (Barry Baxter has plans), and I recently saw a period ad for a Sky Box stunt special, similar in appearance to the Combat Sky Box.
