Title: Betty J Adamisin 1929-2007
Post by: "Big Art" on June 09, 2007, 08:17:00 AM
Friends of Stunt: many of you know Big Art and Betty Adamisin.  Well, we have lost her, last night, after a running battle with Alzheimers and a lot of other health issues.  We are in process of making arrangements, contact me (Dennis) directly if you need to know.

My Mom always said and truly believed that he best part of our family's involvement with Modeling and Stunt in particular was the people we met and friendships and relationships we made.  In that spirit I think the best memorial to her I can think of is simply to ENJOY what we are doing and the people we meet along the way.

...and if you still have your parents or your kids & grandkids, make a point, today,  to give them a hug and tell them that you love them.

Dennis,

Like I said on the other forum.. Betty was "Mom" to all of us. I always looked forward to her hugs, and will miss her. I am sure that God had a big welcome sign for her.

Our prayers, go out for Big Art and the whole Adamisin clan.

I'm angry. I hate it when hurtful things happen to my friends. I wish you guys didn't have to suffer loss or pain of any sort. Dennis, your mom always treated everybody like family and managed to make each of us feel special. I'm praying that you and the rest of your family will find comfort during this time.

Stunt has lost it's Matriarc, if I haven't butchered or misused the term. I will always treasure my Big Art Claus Mikas pin, for in order to get one, Art told me I hart to give Betty a big hig, and that was my introduction to this wonderfull person. I wish I could have been around her more often.
  God Speed Betty.

I never had the pleasure of meeting her, but it is obvious that she has the greatest memorial that anyone can have, the love, respect, and admiration of those that did meet her.

My condolences to Arthur, Archie, Dave, Dennis, Alan, and Marie.

The Adamisins are this area's greatest modeling family of all time.  We have all benefited from your leadership, backed by Betty, for almost 50 years.

Dear family,
It's been at least four years and a lot of doctor visits for both of us since I last saw Big Art and Betty.  It hurts deeply to lose any loved one, and a lot more to lose her.  My deepest sympathies at this time and my deepest gratitude for sharing both of them with me.  My prayers will be going up for several weeks for you all.
Blessings,
Will Hinton

I paid my respects this evening with a visit to the funeral home.
Betty looked very good and at peace. There were lots of flowers and lots of people.
Big Art was in a suit. It's the first time I ever saw him all dressed up. He was handsome. He was in good spirits. Dennis and Dave were there and they too were doing well.

Big Art told me that they had decided to make this a celebration of their lives together. That they had lived too good a life not to celebrate it.

Please know, our prayers are with your family.   God rewards those that make others their concern.   And Art.....I missed seeing you last flying season.   God bless.

To all:
THANK YOU for all your kind words, thoughts and prayers.  As Frank noted, we decided that this was a celebration of Mom's life, and that was made easier by all the people who stopped in to visit, and by all the heartfelt postings, messages, and phone calls Big Art received.  Most of the time it seemed that we were not really in a funeral home because of all of the NOISE; the sharing, story telling, and laughter going on!  Of course we are all concerned about Big Art, but the support and love he received from family and his aeromodeling friends has proven to be a powerful support net.

On behalf of all of us THANK YOU ALL for remembering Betty, and THANK YOU ALL for being there for Big Art, and the rest of us too!

From the tail of an Adamisin Typhoon--------------

IF FATE DECREE THAT I SHOULD FAIL< THEN FATE SHALL  NOT HAVE WATCHED MY TAIL.

I know this hasn't much to do with this thread----But the plane and the quote and Big Art inspired me to build the best I could. Little did I know that the building of models was also building character and a desire to do things right. Both of which don't come natural and are hard to learn.

Dennis,

Thankyou for posting the wonderful photo of Betty and Art.

I know that while I will miss her hugs, I also know that mom is in heaven praying for all of us.

I'll call your dad in a few days.
