These may not be the best wood props in the world, but they are reasonably priced. And what I mean by SLIGHTLY modified is changing a tip shape, or slightly reshaping the blade. NOTE!! By the modify, I do not mean balancing as I assume this is done with every prop. I like wood props cause I'm a bad flier and they absorb more damage when I land poorly!

You can dye a APC PINK,just bye PINK ritt dye,add Alcohol and let sit overnight,Pull the prop out,Drink the Alcohol and go fly.....Jimmy PS dont drink the Alcohol it will turn your teeth PINK !!!

RSM props - without a doubt. 11 x 6 on an LA 46 - killer!!

I voted for RSM, but would really prefer to use a plastic propeller. Thunder Tiger Cyclone #1, Graupner #2 and APC #3. The thing is, tho, that APC has a lot more useful sizes than the other two. All work VERY well, if you happen to have an engine/plane that needs a size that is available from them. I don't care about what a propeller looks like, if it works. Especially don't care about what color it is. Spinning at about 10,000rpm, they all look pretty much the same...dangerous!

The part that Gravity well did not say is that wood props are lighter too, and on his current project, the lighter prop will help his balance with the plane,,

I didn't vote as half of lthem I have never used. And like gravity well I have a tendency to break them on landings.

Has anybody tried Vess wooden sport props, They come in sizes 9,4 and up.

I like the old paddle blade, round tip wood Top Flite props. I use a 10/5 on my Fox .35 Barnstormer.....works great. Of course, you have to find them at garage sales or buy them off Ebay......TDurrill

I have used the Vess props a couple times. Seem to be a very well made prop, and very closely approximate an APC in shape. Not the least of the good things about them, they come with a VERY nice finish, and every one I have checked has been balanced right out of the package.

Thanks Mark,I have a brodak shark 402 that i am starting to build.It will have an enya ss30s for power,I was thinking of the APC 10.5 by 4.5 or a VESS 10 by 4. Do you think that the Vess is as efficient as the APC. TIA.

I like to use a 26X10 BOLLY cut down to 11X5. Bit expensive, but it helps take up the time between possible flying days lately. You can also use all that CF dust with epoxy for some nice looking fillets (cough,cought..I gotta get a mask). Oh, you said wood.

The fact of the matter is that the prop which works best on your engine and airplane is the prop that works best on your engine and airplane. The only way to find this out is to buy a bunch of props and fly and try.

That's what I use for my Sport Fun. Bi-Slobs, Flounder....

NO way am I going to put on a $30 prop just to have fun with.

True enough, Scott. The thing is, that the better the prop works, the longer your plane last! I'm awestruck by the Thunder Tiger 11 x 4.5 on my Magnum XLS .36...it also works very well on B.40, .40LA, .46LA, Aero Tiger .36...and probably more. By the bag, they're about $2 each.

You left out Rev-Up EW series, which I liked a lot for CL Stunt, which would naturally work well for sport flying too. I had pretty good luck with a Zinger on a ST .51 as well.

Mexican food spewed across the table. I usually only laugh in the bedroom, but tonite I make the exception. But, why are all of these other people laughing?

Ah, I figgered it out. 26 inches of Bolly. In the bedroom.

Makes as much sense as dropping $20 for some rice and beans and dead flesh when I probably have a can of Spam in the pantry. Probably don't have any chips or cheese, though.

I'll take plastic, if I find one that really works well. They are more consistent, cheaper and hold up better to those grass trimming takeoffs. I don't care about the weight (of the prop)...I can adjust the CG to compensate. Thrust and line tension are the things I'm looking for. The heavier props help starting, too.

I just went and looked at the list to see why I hadn't voted. You don't have my props listed. I use Top Flite Power Points as they are readily available. The alternative is the wood Master Airscrew. Then followed by Zinger.

Doc is right...the TF Power Point props are not a bad piece, IF they make the size you need. The 10-4 works ok on a .25LA, and the 11-4 works ok on a Magnum XLS .36. Regarding the 11-4, it worked about the same as a Master Airscrew 11-4 S-2 Scimitar (plastic fantastic). NOT as well as the Thunder Tiger Cyclone 11 x 4.5 by quite a bunch, however. Having fun at VSC, Doc?

The RSM props are from Xoar and they are near perfect as delivered. They really perform better than any of the wood props and near what a carbon fiber prop will deliver. This is near the perfect prop for a good Fox 35 or Max S 35. My Byron Barker modified Thunder Tiger 36 also really performs with the RSM prop. This is not a good choice for an engine running at a fast 2 stroke, but for most stunt engines it is really great.
