Best Western Muncie
« on: July 01, 2020, 08:41:12 AM »
I just want to let those that are going to the Nats know that the Best Western in Muncie is temporarily closed. They were very vague on when they were going to reopen and seemed to be using an answering service for their phones. If you have a reservation there you may want to make a back up reservation elsewhere. The good news is that there seems to be rooms available at most other hotels. I had no problem booking back up reservations at reasonable prices. I'm going to try to get more info by e-mail but i wasn't going to take any chances.

yea Will, I ran into that a couple of weeks ago when trying to book. They told me, they were renovating. I got a room at the Quality inn around the corner.

The last time I heard from them, they were supposed to open up this Friday the 3rd. We were told that our reservation was good.

We are staying there as well. I also emailed and was told they'd be open 7/3. I did make a back up reservation though.

Below is a copy of the e-mail I received today. Hopefully it is accurate. I'm probably going to stay with my back ups just to be safe.
Hello!

Thanks for reaching out.
We are still re-opening for July 9th so your reservation will still be honored!
However if you do desire any changes to your reservation feel free to reply to this email and I'll adjust accordingly.

Thanks!

Just an update for anyone staying at Best Western.  The opening date has been moving back ever since the first time we called. At first it was the 3rd, then the 5th, then the 8th, and then the 9th. Well, today is the 9th, and when my friend Mike called thus morning,  he said,  maybe tomorrow.  I spoke with someone yesterday who said they were still working on it. I informed him that if I arrived after a 12 hour drive, starting at 3am, and I didn't have 2 rooms ready, it wasn't going to be a pretty situation.  He assured (well kinda assured) me that they would be ready for us on Saturday.  I sure hope he is right, or I might need bail money.

I hope they open in time. It was a really nice motel even before the renovations!

Owner Emailed me an hour ago they are open for business and honoring all reservations. In fact I cancelled my original reservation from March and re-booked today and saved $200 on a 7 day stay.
