Title: Best ARF choice
Post by: Matt Brown on March 08, 2019, 04:59:45 PM
It has become obvious I’m not going to get anything built this year for my K77. I’m guessing Strega or SV11 would be my best option but thought I’d ask here before pulling the trigger. I have one of the electric SV11s that I’m very happy with and was leaning towards the glow version.

Thanks, Matt

Of the ARFs I have seen/flown, the SV-11 was clearly the most advanced and the best flier.

Just finished assembling an electric SV-11.  Have one flight on it.  So far it looks like it is going to be a really good flyer.   Would recommend replacing the control system with a Tom Morris setup.  The ARF setup sucks.  The Tom Morris hardware was spot on.   Lots of assembly tips for the SV-11 in the ARF section.   y1

Matt....I agree with Brett.
I have three SV-11 arfs set up for glow with the ROJETT 67.
As you know...they fly great.
Randy Smith spent a lot of time and effort getting the mfgr to properly design the control system and install it correctly.
There is no need....on THIS arf to use an after market control system.

Don't forget about the ARC version. It's my understanding that the latest SV11's have much improved controls. The leadout cables could be replaced though. And the bellcrank post could be made longer so it protrudes out of the center sheeting.

I recommend the Yatsenko Shark.

I recommend the Yatsenko Shark.

I don’t know what that one is but sounds expensive!

It is.  It won the last two world championships, though.

Hello Matt
I am very familiar with the K-77 engine. This engine works well with a conventional silencer, and with a resonant tube from the PA-75.
I am also very familiar with ARF SV-11. This is an excellent aerobatic plane that is ideal for your engine with both a conventional muffler and a resonant tube.
I think that SV-11 will be an excellent choice in terms of price-quality ratio.
Regards
Ruslan
