As far as I know, it came assembled, so it meets the requirements for the BOM...Marcus
It is a cool model. Jose please show me a BOM compliant shark your right no rule exists but there should be. However I believe it does say uncovered and unfinished. We need a clear cut rule so people stop trying to use shades of grey.
I am pretty sure that it doesn't meet BOM UN assembled means UN finished raw materials. This has been tried and tested before. Until I am shown a raw kit UN assembled UN covered UN finished No parts of any kind glued together less plywood its just another ARF. And I like Bene.
I am confused. (Maybe not an unusual thing) But, what is the issue here. Bene competes in FAI competition. There is NO BOM requirement. So what is the criticism for?Yes, Bene has competed here in the States including the Nats and our VSC. I am reasonably sure that he built the models he used in any of our AMA contests that have been compliant with our BOM rules.Keith
As far as I know, it came unassembled, so it meets the requirements for the BOM...Marcus
He stated it was BOM compliant and I tend to differ in opinion.
All I know is that elliptical wing is freaking awesome. You guys all need to go to law school and then run for office. You all sound like lawyers or politicians."It depends on what you definition of IS... is..."
...How simple it would be if appearance points were just dropped out of sight. Look at the competition around the world at the gorgeous planes that are being used.
I flew a fully elliptical Charisma (Tom Dixon design) at the 1994 Nats. You can see it at the end of the nats video that Paul posted.Derek.
Derek,Where is that video, I would like to see it.Any comments on how the model performed?Charles
I was a teenager when I flew this plane but I seem to remember it being pretty good. I won Advanced at the Nats with it that year.Derek
I took 5th place in beginner that year! It's great to watch old videos! The clothes kill me!! HHAHAAA
I cant believe they got that plane back together in the hotel room.
Here are two BOM compliant Sharks. I just had to do it. Tough stuff! Steve
A few years back, I offered Jean Pailet's Skylark as a kit and it had a beautiful elliptical wing. The kit did not sell well and I never understood why.Mike
That was just one of many Windy emergency rebuilds at the nats over the years. Including one of mine.Derek
I cant even look back at the pictures of me in the 80s. Way too much neon and acid wash for my brain to take. Derek
Deleted. Nothing to do with Bene's Shark.
Who is the chick?
Haha! I got a new one too. It's going to be even nicer than Bene's;) L
