BCCF at PP last weekend / Intermediate Report

Great contest last weekend (Sunday) hosted by the Bergen County Controline Flyers at Palisades Park!!
Dick Carville and I drove down on Saturday, and put in some practice flights between rain showers.
 
There were 7 flyers in Intermediate, and we had a great battle for the top 3 spots.

After the first round, Ken Cook was in the lead. I was 5 points behind, with Rudy Rybek 8 points
behind me. Shawn Cook had to take an attempt, but given Ken's performance I thought it wise
to keep an eye on Shawn. Ron Testa was in striking range, too.

I managed to bump my score up a few points in the second round. Turned out that it wasn't enough,
as Rudy put up a nice flight and beat me by a point. Pushed down to third place, I watched Shawn
put up a couple of nice flights on his next tries. Shawn scored well, but not enough to knock
me out of third place.

Ryan Berry rocked out with his Flight Streak, doing a fine job for his first entry as intermediate.
Both Ryan and Shawn are Juniors, and did great.

I suppose I am interested in the rest of the competition.  We'll be there in October for the last contest there.  We'll be flying Saturday afternoon with Rich and Windy, and pizza night out I've heard 

Chris any chance you'll be there in October?  And how about the rest of the guys, and by the way, nice report.

Glad you liked the report. Sometimes I do a little writing for the local combat newsletter, too.

This contest was my first time flying over a hard surface. It freaked me out a bit for part of my first practice flight, but I
got over it pretty quickly. I've already started thinking about coming down for the October contest at Pal Park. I'll see the
other guys at tomorrow night's flying session and see if I can get them interested in going, too. I think Steve Yampolsky
needs to come down, since he had engine trouble which knocked him out of contention in Expert.
