We all have heard "a happy wife is a happy life", so I suggested we go see Barbie last night. We have not been to the theater since before COVID. The only option was Oppenheimer which I heard was too long and much too technically (boring) to hold even technical folks like us for that long. I asked for my wife's interpretation later; I can only sum it up by saying we for the most part (my vintage) were brought up in what was referred to as "a mans world". The audience was predominantly female and while most remained glued to their seats through the ending credit roll the few male participants as was myself were on our feet reaching for the car keys. I'd rate it a 6 while my wife enjoyed it much more. It's a doable movie so if you want to extend yourself a little it's worth accompanying her to see it. Gosling and Robbie were outstanding, even Will Ferrell the clown he usually is got his part in it. We'll stick to Netflix from from the living room couch and save the $30.00 not including the popcorn and soda at another $25.00. You only live once!!

I rate it at a 2...It is as anti man as they come. Every man is made to look like a fool, idiot or dunce...Pure WOKE BS. D>K
Sounds like every television commercial you see nowadays. Men have to be made out to be idiotic fools that have to be rescued from their own stupidity. Who builds and fixes everything in "Barbie" world?? Because in the real world it isn't women.

I would rather have my eyeballs rubbed with sandpaper 😬

Sure glad I have an excuse for not going to see either movie. The last movie I went to the hearing aid didn't help a bit. But when you try to appease the woke crowd, who knows? S?P

Because the liberal media is promoting it, there is NO WAY I would go see it.

I learned a long time ago to put my politics to sleep before watching a movie. Most movies now days have a socio-political message, most of which I find offensive. So, don't look for it! Just enjoy the art. I have yet to see Barbie, but I will simply because I love musicals. There have been some great sci-fi movies based on crap science, but I still love to watch them.

Last flick I saw was "Devotion." Bearcats and Corsairs! Hell yeah! My daughter saw Barbie and enjoyed it. Good for her.

Of course Barbie is all about women, it’s Barbie! Ken is an accessory, not in charge.
Oppenheimer on the other hand is outstanding!!! For a movie filled with dialogue, it’s incredibly fast paced and one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. 10/10 from me

I assume zero of the critics have actually watched the movie. Like many, I read some scathing criticism of the movie, then some good perspective. Remember, barbie was lambasted in the 50s by critics for being anti-men.
Therefore, I disagree with any "woke" namesayers. It's just pure old fashioned anti-men...
Or is it. According to my daughter, she came out of the theater hating barbie for being so flagrantly sexist. So, take it as you will...

We should certainly fault Ken for mansplaining.
