Title: Banshee (Mr. James Lee!)
Post by: Bill Little on December 27, 2006, 10:39:04 PM
After seeing the thread on the Banshee, and seeing Jim Lee's picture (Aud Photo), I have a question:  Is the Banshee "Inline"??

Jim's sure looks like it!  (I have never built or flown one.........)

Mine is an old one ('78 Sig edition).. The wing is centered on the thrustline and the stab is 1/2" or so above it...

I watched the progress of this Banshee of Jim's.  The stab is just a little higher than the thrust line.  I think Jim explained the mods he made to the wing.  Also he does a terrific job of flying the beast.  DOC Holliday

Hi Bill  ;D
The Banshee was almost inline...   the motor and wing were inline and as Doc noted, the tail is a bit above the center...   the tail was stretched 1 1/2" and the nose shortened about 1".  there were a lot of detail changes.  Always liked the way it flew   ;D
Actually I sold it to one of the Tulsa guys last year...  Couldn't find a place to hang it up!!!   I gotta build more planes and can't find room for the ones I have!!!  Oh Well...
As a side note the color was Sig Copper for the stripes and Avon nail polish for the main color...  (Bet that will get some comments   y1 )

Jim,
It is all about fashion for you isn't it?  Not enough to lay the spank on us with your flying abilities, but then talk to our wives about proper nail care as well and make us look bad.

It took some digginng but I finally found the disc with the 2003 Wichita Contest pictures on it. Here's a little better side view of Jim's Banshee.

HI Jim,

Thanks for the info!

Nail polish is often lacquer based so I guess it mixes well with dope.

I'm still trying to figure out how you got Lila to buy all those little bottles..........

 ;D

(shame on JP!)

Bill,
There is no shame as I managed to type and drink without spilling a drop.
