The clevises I'm using are similar to those, and they're on a plane I built about 8 years ago, and it's had over 500 flights, and believe me, it gets wrung out.
While in bed last night I was imagining the setup, As I see it, it wouldn't be hard to either bend a stanard U flap/stab joiner, and then bind and solder a upright wire, and bind and solder a length of M3 threaded rod to that. If you were really lazy you could probably just thread the upright wire with a die.
I'm currently considering building something new, I might give them a go, and report back. Granted I doubt I'll get 200 flights out of it, let alone 20000!
