Title: Balancin Props
Post by: Bootlegger on August 26, 2007, 06:27:31 AM
   H^^ Mornin Guy's,
First I must appologize for postin my question in the wrong place.
I am curious about balancein props, I read to sand the "face" of the prop not the back.
What is the reason for this ? My thinkin is that the airfoil is what makes the prop "work".
Sanding the back changes the pitch though doesen't it ?
Sure could use some help in this direction........ D>K

You're correct. For balancing, sand the "face" of the prop. You can ahieve a small amount of "re-pitching" through changing the angle of the "backside" of the prop, but any significant effort here will also reduce blade area.

Put on a latex glove and smooth super glue on the face of the light blade until it balances.
