Bad experiece with Fibre Glast
« on: July 04, 2017, 09:38:39 AM »

Last month I ordered some 4113 casting urethane at $128 from Fibre Glast Development Co .it arrived just before going to Brodaks. when I got back I opened both cans to mix and found that part b, the hardener was hard in the can
after 4 phone calls I was told the only way they would do anything is if I send it back  at my expense and pay a 25%surecharge. even after agreeing that that the problem wasn't my fault.. I told them that that was not acceptable and was told that it was the only choice I had.I have been buying stuff from them for 20 years so be forewarned  Bob Whitney, Rd Racer  AMA RAD

Bob,

Couldn't that product be heated? Get it to a liquid state where it's useable.

Bob, Thanks for the heads up. I've come up against severe return policies like that before. Maybe you can get someone in higher management to work with you but, you'll probably have to send it back and get what refund you can. Maybe after they see the product they'll change their minds and make it right.

Another option is to do a charge back through your credit card since the product was defective. You might get a full refund but the business might ban you from future purchases.

Here is a link to a product I've been using to make prop molds and it works well.  https://www.smooth-on.com/products/epoxacast-655-ht-hardener/

Hope that helps,
MM

Hmmmm....Sounds like being banned from future purchases from them might be doing you a favor!

Sorry...I know this is no laughing matter but I think when you run into this kind of behavior from any company and they won't do anything about it it's probably best to cut your losses and go elsewhere.
You know the old saying "Screw me once your fault...Screw me twice my fault!!"

I'm sure there are other companies that make similar products.  A little research might even turn up another source for the hardener!
