FAA ha a phone app to "help" you comply with rules about airport near your flying area. it's junk.

The app list several airports and helipads near me. They are not on the sectional charts I have. Trust me these residential neighborhoods have not been an airport in 15 to 20 years. I have lived in the same area for 25 years and was not aware of them. The airports are not on the sectional charts that I have. Some of the helipads listed are someones backyard, with mature trees all over them.
Problems without solutions. Very poor. The app gives you a warning and no way to comply.

this one is listed on google map as permanently closed. It is only a few miles from home, I go past it almost daily, never seen any activity there. I can see the remnants of a hanger. 9WI4

this one is near my job, a ritzy neighborhood. Maybe he has a little chopper in there. Looks like and old barn the neighbors would bitch if someone operated out of there on a regular basis. 71WI
