Title: Austin TX Flyers
Post by: David M Johnson on December 01, 2014, 02:06:17 AM
Sorry to leave the Sunshine State but my good wife and I are moving to Austin TX in a couple of Months.  I don't know any people there and I'm looking for flying sites clubs and hobby shops that support Control Line.

There are five of us who fly regularly on Sundays.  We have been flying on a school field in Hutto.  All, I think, members of the Dallas club.  More later.

Welcome to Texas. There is a large group up here in the DFW area. Put the first week in October for the Ringmaster Roundup/Flyathon in Houston. Lots of fun.

There are a few guys down there in that area.  I'm in the Ft Hood area, about 45 minutes up I-35.  I'm more focused on getting a few models built, and even that will be interupted by a 4-week business trip to California on 9 Feb, I do plan on getting down there and flying with you guys this spring.  Welcome to Texas!

David, yes welcome to Texas!! I live in Clifton  which is a little over two hours away and have a fantastic place to fly in my front yard (10 ac's).  There are a couple of us fliers here so if you are ever interested in a little road trip you are always welcome!
