At the Bench Video Hangout
« on: November 03, 2020, 12:42:55 AM »
This was one of the best video hangouts yet. The conversation covered a wide variety of topics, and John Miller ( The designer of the Pathfinder series of model airplanes) gave an explanation of the Flap vs elevator throw of modern stunt models. We went on to discuss stunt engines and mufflers as well as the availability for header for tuned pipe engines. We also had a discussion of the merits in the design of high aspect ratio stunt ships of the past like Big Jims Pattern Master design. You should check out the excellent thread here on stunt hangar in the N30 thread that explores the history of this design, it is a great read and is a must read for anyone who wishes to get a grounding on the progression of CLPA stunt as it relates to where we are today. So make sure you tune in to the next video hangout. You never know where the discussion will take you next in the realm of control line. As always join us and you can steer the conversation to other interesting topics, or learn something completely new.

Peter, thanks for mentioning Gordan's Pathfinder series. I must make it clearly known that I am not the designer. I drew the plans with Gordan monitoring and making corrections along the way. I did write the published articles, but they were only submitted after Gordy approved them.

Gordy deserves to be recognized for his designs.
