"SHULTZIE"

Has anyboby heard from Shultzie or anyone else from the N.W., that was a pretty bad storm. Lots of people with no power. Just a little concerned.

They've probably blown to Spokane and haven't made it back over the mountains yet. **) It sure made a mess of things there.

There is lots of free firewood around, for the asking. We had our three big Deodora Cedars taken down a few years ago. Didn't like to do it, but it was a good move.  I'm not sure when I'll be able to buy more D cells,  because I expect lots of folks are still using them. Presto Logs, ditto. Daughter Kelsey is flying in from Boston on Wednesday. We're gonna ask her to bring us some D cells, maybe a few presto logs! The wife just came back from her Mom's and said two stores she stopped at had no batteries in stock. This has been a pretty wild 3 weeks.

I hope everybody else checks in ASAP and lets us know if they are ok, and if they need help. I've got some fencing to fix, but not a big deal. It's turned cold again, so I hope the powerline crews can get things patched up before long. NW Skyraider's own Thadd Faussett is probably out in the cold fixing powerlines right now. Be safe, Thadd!  f~  Steve

Yea, I'm back , more or less. Power was back on about 8pm last night finally, but it's out again today. But this is probably planed while they took some systems off line to do continued repairs. Still no cable or internet at home and the phone line is "iffy". Works and doesn't work.

Man, I've run a chainsaw a lot in the last three days. I can barely lift my arms. 4 trees down on my driveway and 15 down our private road between me and the county road. Glad the power lines from our road are underground.  Asplundh Tree Service (that contracts with Puget Sound Energy) had a field day. I can't tell you how many trees they cut out of the power lines last Friday. Interesting to watch.

A lot of folks are still waiting for repairs. Especially down where Shultzie lives (to say nothing of the folks up in Woodenville area. They really got pasted).

Hi Randy,

Glad to hear that you are physically ok!  Now you have a bunch of firewood to help lower your heating bill!  ;D

Be very careful with the chain saw.  I have seen to many bad things happen to well seasoned "pulp wood" men........

Waiting to see if we are going to get a killer ice storm this year.  It was well over 75 today, and that means we'll probably not get snow this year, but the ice will be brutal.

Take care, be careful and be aware that all of you in the area are in our prayers.
