Assembled just for the photo shoot. The engine will have to be removed for brake in.

Thanks for the look and kind comment.

There's 5 different colors of paint not counting the clear coat and 4 different colors of vinyl with the graphics. I used no decals at all. Almost on the rudder but decided to print vinyl.

I will remove the engine for brake in. The ARGO 2 will get flown.

Yes, the model does have an usual outline. Pointless actually from a CL design standard.

Here's the thing about scale. Honestly, I'm really not in that league. I do my thing and sure, my models look OK, but to do scale is another level that I cannot bring myself to.

I'm happy near the bottom. Not on the bottom, but close.

I have to run that OS LA at least once or twice on the stand. I can do that at the field.

I have a few other things to do to the ARGO 2 and one big problem to solve. I screwed up fitting the engine.

I fit it without the NVA in place. Now with the NVA and needle on the engine I cannot get it in. It will only go in without the needle.

Calling all EXPERTS!

Your Shark, gear in the fuselage or wing?

Gear is in the wing. It's removable, so,it is a little fragile if not handled correctly. I damaged the landing gear on a previous Shark, by not carefully watching what I was doing, and took my eyes off the aircraft for a few seconds, and came in too hard. Totally my fault. So now I keep my eyes on the Shark at all times.

Let us  talk about your airplane, what did you use for paint,  how did you do that in Florida, with all the humidity?  How long did it take you to build, give us some detail.   I love the stance it has, and the scoop!

My finishing methods are in my Build Threads. Some are at CFC Graphics vendor's corner.

All aerosol cans start to finish. Krylon colors then 2K Spray Max auto clear. Graphics I get from CFC Graphics. He gives me a brake. I don't pay any attention to humidity. When I'm ready to paint I go out doors and just do it. Picnic table at local Park.

This thread has just about done, but I'll sweeten it with a few more photos.

Certainly not the level of what you would produce in building quality, but nice to look at especially from 10 feet. 

A Build-up in paint covers imperfections. And the clear helps.

I gotta fix the needle valve mistake I made and do it without cutting up the model.

Very pretty Charles the airplane is a real looker. Who the hell cares about a flight report. So what if it is not a CLPA world beater. Anyone would be proud just flying that model round and round in level flight. Who cares if it never sees a CLPA contest or anything else. Many would be proud just hanging it on the wall for it's decorative value. Bravo Charles it is a wonderful creation and as long as it makes you happy, that's all that counts. Now if only we could fly off that immaculately manicured golf course green..... that would be something. Oh and I can agree grass any longer than in your photos does tend to beat up wheel accents like the ones on the Argo2. I had the same issues on my magnum the gear covers would get all twisted around. BTW depending on my schedule if you need a pit man for your flight trials I am ready to assist.

It would be nice just to know it would take off fly level and land in one piece.   Charles does work that would try my patience.  In my early years I would try my best to get a finish that would look half as good as to what Charles does.  I would then be afraid to fly my creation as I was still unsure of my capabilities.   Then I asked a club member to fly one of my planes and he proceeded to put it through the pattern.   After landing he said quit worrying about finish until you can do the pattern.  Was told to worry more about building straight and light.   Any way another way of breaking in an engine if it will hold a setting good enough to get air borne is to fly it.   All my engines get final break in in the air.   The lowest appearance I ever got was with a profile at an early contest and I was placed last behind all the built up full bodied planes.   Didn't worry as I beat most of them score wise to place them behind me on the score board.  Don't forget the video of possible.

I don't have the means to do the video thing. Possibly someone at the field? The ARGO 2 won't be flown immediately, I have to brake in the engine. Besides I'm busy working on other designs that I have to get done.

I was weighing the GBR3 and the parts to it, so I thought why not weigh the ARGO 2.

The ARGO 2 weighs 3lbs 4oz if anyone is interested.
