Amazing what you can get for the money. Of course the operating costs with $5 avgas and two close-to-run-out engines probably sinks this deal for most commercial operators. And I think my 1943 Taylorlcraft had as much instrumentation as this bird. Pretty basic, barely IFR.

But consider this: the current asking price is LESS than what it cost the government to build this airplane in 1943 dollars!

I hope some rich collector saves this piece of American history so we can enjoy the sound of round engines a little longer.

The DC-3 is one of my all time fave's. I dunno why, I just like the looks. I saw a cream & red one once that just sticks in my mind. I've often thought a fuselage off of one of these would be even better than an air-stream for a travel trailer.  LL~
