Ares cowl
« on: January 25, 2023, 02:13:31 PM »
I have a build thread going in the Building Techniques but thought I'd post this here.
I didn't like the fiberglass  cowl that came with the Brodak kit so I decided to make my own, I've never carved a cowl with this type of air scoop I used the glass cowl as a guide but pretty much winged it free hand and I have to say I am very happy with how it's turning out, this is also the first time I've used 1/64 ply on the fuse to get that almost seamless fit and again it turned out almost perfect, still a little finishing sanding to do but I'm very happy so far, did I already say that?  <=  ;D

Cowl looks great - keep up the good work.

My favorite part of the build is making the cowl.

Thanks guys and I don't think I've done this much sanding on an airplane before either, my arm is going numb.  n~ LL~
