My Tufstrand lines lasted 6 laps before coming apart. Anyone else have a problem?

Nope. And don't. ;D

I ordered some once. As soon as I looked at them, they went into the junk box and are still there.

Not knowing what "Spider Wire" line was, I tried monofilament fishing line on a 1/2 A model.
I described the flight as:
give up input to the handle and a quarter lap later the plane starts climbing. Give down control and a quarter lap later the plane goes into a dive. Give up input to pull out but NO quarter lap available to pull out in.
It felt like I was using rubber bands for flying lines. Switched to the woven fishing line and the model flies fine. The monofilament lines would stretch several inches with even a reasonable amount of load applied.

Look for "non-stretch", often labelled "extra-sensitive", meaning the fisherman can feel every little nibble since there's no "give" to the line; to us it means reaction time somewhat better than 1/4 lap! Usually woven or "fusion", etc. Lotsa brands, colors, weights, prices to choose from. Spiderwire was my first, but also have used Spectra. Watch the prices; some get really spendy, others are really cheap. Cheaper is better.
