We had an afternoon on a soggy field
« on: March 30, 2014, 05:48:55 PM »
The wind and rain was gone today so we tried to take advantage of the weather. Met up with a few of the guys after church this afternoon.
The field needed to be mowed, so myself and Bryon jumped on two of the club mowers and chased each other in the circle until the spring weeds were down. We had a few small ponds to hop over when landing but other then that it was a great afternoon of flying. We are getting back in the groove and everything was working great. I can not tell you the last time I touched the needed on my LA 46 on my Nobler. Jim is starting to practice for the NATs with his Ares with a PA UL 40 RE. Sweet!

Here are a few memories from today. What a blast!

I will take soggy field any day if it means I get to fly. ;D

I had to put the Tutor 2 in 4 wheel drive. Got stuck in the mud and tweaked the gear a little. n~

A few more.

Mother Nature gave the Northcoast of Ohio a sucker punch. We had 5 " of snow last night. Spring is coming, my daffodils don't lie.

The soggy fields is what I was worried about too, but with the freezing temps and such the field was okay in my mind.  I remember the field up north where I used to fly with John Bender.  We went home with mud up to our knees and had to move the center circle several times as well as the take off area.  Also try to get some pictures of the King Sweep at a better angle.  Too windy here Sunday for flying so James, grandson, and I went to opening day at the race track.   The guys still thing they can win the race on the first lap.   Most cars will be back as soon as drivers and crew get little problems ironed out.  Just like model planes,  first time out for the year and there are problems.  So glad I got the knees worked on as I got to go talk to a couple of drivers.  Also so much more fun to go flying. Now to get grandson to say,  "Lets go flying".
