Title: Anyone still interested in the Windy videos?
Post by: Paul Taylor on July 27, 2014, 10:00:50 AM
I have been very lazy and slack the past few months uploading Windy's collection of videos.
Anyone still interested I will try and upload more to YouTube?

Let me know.

Yeah, load up what you got when you have the time, and we appreciate the effort. I don't have a lot of spare time to just sit and watch videos right now, but somewhere down the line I hope they are still there. probably the same for lots of others also. You might not get a great response here, but you don't know who might be stumbling across them, they catch their interest, and spread the word on them. In my opinion, you can never have too many books, magazines, and now videos on a favorite subject!
  Type at you later,

Here is just one of the many Letters I get. This is what keeps me doing it.

"Robert, i just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for takeing the time to post videos of your building & finishing process. I especially like how you mention the name of the products you use. I watch them over and over & allways pick up something new. I rate your videos right there with Windys. I am glad to have found Stunt Hanger a few months ago. I dont post alot, but do read Stunthanger several times a day! Thanks again.

Ok guys.
I'm out of town and will be back late tomorrow.
Will try and get a few going each day so check back from time to time.
One problem is he puts copy right stuff in the middle of the movie so I have to try and screen each one. Really slows down the process. If I find copy right stuff I can't upload it, so there might be a few numbers missing.  mw~

Please poke me if I fall down on the job again.  D>K

Do it at your own pace, Paul. You're doing us a great service. Much appreciated.
And thanks Windy for letting us have them.

Yep, when you can...

This thread reminded me:
At some point, somebody mentioned making some Windy plans available for download. I haven't noticed any follow-up on that. Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

I have been watching the Strega crash repair ones on the road here in the hotel. They do keep my interest. Love the banter mixed with great know-how. And they are long.
So yes...do please.

Hi Rootbeard,

Upload them all!  Since Windy is out of the model airplane business, we need a source of his videos.

Paul, yes, videos on wind flying would be very helpful.

Robert, I love your videos.  Makes me feel like I am right there with you drinking a Pepsi and watching you build.  I would encourage you to do some vids on motorcycle repair also.  I think you have found your niche.

Paul,

Does this venture have Windy's blessings?  I know many of us have bought videos from him over the years.

Yes, I supplied Paul with many of the videos with Windy's consent. Windy is retired.

Yes. I spoke with Windy and as he always said on his video's.  Pass them around and share. Drop him a note to thank him for allowing us to share.

Windy also has been uploading motor cycle adventures on YouTube as well.

I saw that the soundtrack has been silenced from at least "Wind U 777 ARF Flights and Novanta First Flights" video: Copyright claim.

Now I have a strike. 3 strikes and that account gets banned for Six months.

I've understood that there's some sort of an automatic scan for music on Youtube. On a guitar players' forum, some have run into copyright claims when the scan recognized an arrangement of a song that they'd played and posted.

I made a movie of me trying to fly stunts with my Shoestring as my ankles gradually were mummified by the stooge line. I called it the "Stooge Dance" and to the tune of the Willbury Twist and then the Hokey Pokey. It was banned from viewing by mobile devices for a few months and later it was released for general viewing.

If you're interested, it's sorta funny, but only if you have full screen and can see what's happening. If you're watching on a small screen it's meaningless. So in the spirit of hijacking a thread, here it is. Lol
Rusty

As I said, full screen helps and so does sound.
Oh and you have to close the stupid ad that pops up at 10 seconds because it covers up my laced up legs.

Well they might shut it down.
I try and cut the intro and trailer off the videos due to music but sometimes he pop some in the middle.

There is an appeal process on YouTube for this. I have not investigated it but they might give a pass to some of Windy's background music given the context of the recordings.

Did you try this?

Depending on what is on the video, it might pass as "fair use".

(and maybe this??? https://support.google.com/youtube/troubleshooter/4440751 )
