I see Eric from RSM is kitting it - but the picture is not the best - anyone have any photos if this?
TIA
-
I think it was on the cover of an early 70's Model Airplane News magazine with his daughter who was maybe 4 or 5 at the time. I'll have to look it up, but I have no way of scanning it and posting it.
Type at you later,

Wynn,
Check this thread in the old Stunt Grunt forum, now entitled As Time Goes By. BTW his name's pronounced White Lee and spelled Whitely.

I have another photo of Miss Kell. Can't remember which Lake Charles Nats it was.
Tight Lines!

Miss Kell is the reason I got the bug to fly C/L big time. What a beautiful model it is!

Had to be in the 70's. I think 74 was the first Lake Charles NATS. We were ther for each of the Lake Charles NATS. The last one had to have been the hottest one.

I just check my slide frame from that slide that I have....and the frame is plain unmarked PLASTIC duplicate slide mount. Since I didn't attend that 70 nats...this might be a duplicate from some slides that Al Rabe sent me (instead of Bob Hunt?) since I have a few other dup.slides showing Al Rabe with his Sea Fury.
Gee....
Time flies??? and so does my demented brain cells n~b] Humm? Al or Bob!!! [/b] If either of you are lurking? Did either of you send these duplicates my way? H^^ n~ n~

Hi Guys, The top and bottom pics are of the original Miss Kell, the middle one is the third one I built and had pearl paint and just a little bit different trim scheme but not much. The original Kell placed fourth at the '73 Nats' and I still have the plane although somewhat worse for wear.
Thanks for all the interest in the Miss Kell and for anybody that would like to build one Eric of RSM will have the first run of kits at the VSC this year. Regards, Bob

Hey Bob, need an updated picture, as I bet the young lady don't look like that now. I can remember the talk in a past post about the bandaid. See you in Tuscon. H^^

There was one at Brodaks last year that was built with the horizontal stab straight instead of anhedraled (sp?).

HERESY! (But still a good looking bird) I managed to miss that one, do you recall who flew it? What class?
I have liked the Miss Kell since I first saw it in 1973. It is one of those birds that you could fly in Nostalgia 30 then take it over to the "modern" CLPA and kick some serious booty.

Hi Guys,
I flew the Miss Kell in Beginner's at last year's Brodak's Fly-In. Dick Carville built her back in the 80's.
The ship has "Missy Ann" on the nose, for Dick's daughter.

Well RJ
The Miss Kell is an absolutely gorgeous airplane and should have tons of interest for the N-30 Class.

Good looking ship, but where is the good looking lady? LL~ LL~ LL~ Also why didn't the stab get built with anhedral? It is still a good looking rendition of a great airplane. Hope you get many more years service out of it. H^^

Hey Roberto' Whitely...here is a shot from Les McD's Kodachrome 10s' from the 74 nats. Although we have posted this shot somewhere the SH website...
GREAT LOOKIN HAT! BOB...Any memories you'd like to share about those daze-days?

Wow, Whitely was a skinny dude once. (weren't we all). Cool plane, though.
-
I think Kirk Mullinix' Royal Flush is essentially a Miss Kell with
a straight stab. Not sure if there are any other differences, though.
Great looking plane, one of my all time favorites.

I thought he was just looking for his best buds; the hardhat, the biker, the cop and the indian chief...
