Did something change in the last few days? There is now a ton of ads all over the site and anoying pop-up ads on Stunthanger. Pain in the a$$ to navigate using Chrome on an Android phone.

If someone could tell me how to pay for this site without ads I will be happy to listen. The reason it seems like there is more ads Google is running an experiment on ad placement.

I put a thread on here about pop ups using my iPad. It lasted one day and then some took it down. Desk top runs add blocker and I get no adds. I gave up coming here on my iPad. Some will say no adds here ,that means they are running add blocker. This is the worst site I go to for pop up’s

Running this site must be an expensive venture. Thanks to Sparky for looking after this as best he can. How much per member would it cost to cover this cost? Perhaps a sign up fee is warranted to be ad free?

The same problem exists on TV where there are more ads than program content. Most annoying for us senior citizens who don't spend money on impulse buys anymore.

These ads help toward the hefty cost of running the Hangar, if any of the ads are actually of interest consider using your mouse, it helps Sparky run this thing!

What does it cost to keep this site going. I would probably say there are a bunch of us that have never donated to Sparky for this site. I plan on sending some as soon as my retirement pittance comes in. As far as ads I think cable and dish are the worst. I record most of the programs I watch in the shop so I can fast forward through the ads. WWE 3 hour program watched in less than 2 hours. NASCAR 5 hour program watched in less than 3 hours. But I have missed a few endings because they have a sports program wanting to start and shift to another channel. ESPN especially.

I don't see a way to donate with a credit card.
I don't have or want a PP account but the PP 'guest' function is not turned on for this site.
I have made many purchases this way....but not on SH.

I get no ads. I use Adblock Plus and Adguard. Never see an ad on this site.

I will gladly put up with the adds to keep the site going. Just don't get into the tracking adds. My wife bought some underware from Jockey last year and I still get bombarded with women's underware adds. I feel like Jake from State Farm.

Supposedly selecting "why this add" you are led to a place where they explain how you can personalize the type adds you receive. Whether this would help reduce the quantity received I wonder. I'd prefer not to go there, I fear the more they hear from you the deeper into the weeds you will get. There are some very powerful marketing organizations out there just waiting for a fish like me to saunter into their data network and pester. Also and more importantly, those that receive those pretty young girls adds or girls from Russia or any country I strongly advise and not from experience I can assure you DO NOT click on them. It appears they think to target some guy over 70 will make a difference.

There are adds at the top and bottom of the page but I've never gotten any pop ups, The add I'm looking at now is for marijuana grow lights.
