Hi Randy,
Weather down here is great. Temps are climbing and will approach 80 degrees in a couple of days. Sure am glad I am not in Kingston with your sub 30 temps and occassional snow. Ha Ha.
The events kick off Monday evening with a feed bag put on by Bill and Elaine Hayworth at the field. They are great people.
Guys have been arriving since Thursday. Claus Makis from Ulm Germany was at the field on Friday with a cool stuka scratch built from scaled up magazine plans with an OS25FSR. I saw Bob Hunt, our friend from Paduka, KY., Ty Marcucci (sp).
Gordon Delaney, John Miller from SLC, Pete Peterson, Tacoma, Allan Brickhaus, IL and many others.
We now have three paved circles and three grass circles. The gophers will have to watch their heads as the ground crews covered the holes for our benefit but then they will want to watch the action and dig them out and observe the intense competitive flying starting Tuesday.
Entrant numbers are way down from last year.. Something like 52 entrants in OTS as compared to 82-86 for last year. Classic entrants is in the low 70s as compared to low 90s last year. Drat the economy. This is the first decline in entrants to my knowledge in the past five years.
Wish you were here.

The demented Poodle and I made it to the field today. Parking was a premium item. All the circles in full use using the signup sheet for each circle for flying. Got flights on the Humbug and trying to get cobwebs out of the Thirteen. So many people I seen today that I won't list them as there are too many. Bobby Hunt was the first to greet me and the pooch. She's had a full day and laying over on the rug dead to the world. Now the fun starts tomorrow and hope I can get enough pictures. Bill and Elaine are the best putting on a feed for us every year as well as a few others. But temps in high 70's is hot. DOC Holliday

I got a call from Joe Gibert this evening, and he said his Spifire powered Humongous was ready for action as he put in about 7 flights today. He went from FAI fuel to 10-29 to help with the heat and altitude. Sure wish I was there. Keep us posted.
