Check out the pictures from Buildright they will show the placing on the first day.

Weather was great, high 70's to low 80's a little changing wind , some gust at times , but overall good.

great turnout in all classes, 5 in Basic, 11 in OTS, ii in Classic and 18 in profile ,

Curtis Comer reall put one in to come out on top in profile , he has been working hard with his good flying  tutor, In a field of 18 exceptional competition, first place is quite a accomplishment .. Good Job Curtis ,

looks like the same weather today, sunday for skill classes , I will update this afternoon when we get back and maybe load some pics

Most of the normal flyers are here from the southeast , including some visitors from up north , Big Art, Several Guys from Penn, alot from Virginia , Fla, etc..  M ore to be there Sun.

Dan Banjock really put on ashow in Scale with his jet powered Mig, what a show ,

Jet's,  404 Event , Scale Combat, Stunt OTS, Classic , 18 entrants in profile , More vendors than you can affort to even look at , build and fly event , Kids flying airplanes  with their parents and having a good time doing it  ..Bad Andy proving he's not really Bad .. What a get together

Pat,

I guess to the two Judges , Watt Moore and Dale Barry , it probably seemed like 198 , but in reality only 18..

Today we had 11 in Expert, won by Dave Hemstrought,Close second by Dan Banjock with his P 51   10 in Advanced and 5 in Intermediate .

Good turnout in all classes , great weather , slight wind as it was on Sat

 later

William

Thanks to all the guys who came to, and put on, the Huntersville meets!

We had a great turnout, some new faces, and a great time.  It was awesome to see Big Art, again.  Danny Banjock was STILL having too much fun! LL~

Jose Modesto had the whole family down, the list could go on, but I would leave someone out.  :o  ;D

A truly great time! y1

I also had a fun time and plan to be there next June.

I learned that 9 months of RC UAV flying is not very good prep for CLPA. For some strange reason, stunt ships don't like rolling maneuvers. There were numerous pilots who tried to roll their planes on Saturday. The Horizontal Square Eight was very difficult in that shifty wind and a lot of us lost pattern points while trying to save the plane. HB~> HB~>

With luck, I'll actually get to fly some control line planes next year.  :## :##

Steve,

It was also great to see you and I owe you big time for the offer. I used to be able to do this hobby and just need to spend more quality time with my planes.  :## :##

And yes, you are right about the money. I can think of a few things that are worse than flying RC planes for a living.  LL~ LL~

To be honest. The last couple of months my heart just hasnt been in it.Then I wrecked the Avanti so Sat.it was breezy, and I didnt feel like flying but I told myself I must fly to get ready for Sunday.I went out and SMASH! I wrecked my only other ship that was competetive. Now my heart really wasnt in it,but I had to show up at the contest Sun anyway.I will tell you I am glad I did,not only to fellowship with some good people but it got the spark back. Congrats to Adrian.

Huntersville had such awesome weather and a great time that I think anybody would be motivated to get busy with stunt once they saw it!  I'm sorry you crunched your last ship Sat, and hope you get back in the air soon.  Are you going to build the 630" Vector next?

Im thinking of a Vector arf or arc to get into the air quick. What do ya say with the LA 46? And I will let Steve tell you how he did. And I will be building the original Vector.

Hi Jim,

Aaron picked up a Vector ARF for practice, and is going to use either a Magnum 36 XLS or an LA 46, hasn't decided.  Either of those, or an Aero Tiger 36, etc., will work fine, I am sure.

For the ARF/ARC, just have to replace the controls, and for the ARF seal all the edges and reshrink the covering.

I will try to post some pictures tomorrow

Actually, Dave on his final flight tied Bob Dixon and won on a match of cards at 527.5 each, and Dave:513, Bob:510. and Danny Boy was third with 526.

Just correcting from the picture of the score sheet as posted. y1

Thanks, again, for your hard work, Will!
