My lovely wife somehow cracked the emerald stone in a diamond and emerald ring she really likes. I would like to get it fixed for her and found this on eBay.

It's the right size and shape but wondering if it's really worth $112.00. I know nothing about gem stones and only have one day to decide if I'm going to buy this stone or not.

Go to your local jeweler and talk to them.

Right or wrong I went ahead and bought it, received it yesterday and it looks great. Now to find a local jewelry repair shop to swap out the stone.

Doc. I suspect a local jeweler would place his own interest above mine in whatever advice he would give me. Felt I could trust the CL comunity more but guess we don't have any gem stone experts that hang out here.
