Any C/L around Kansas City?

Friends, I am in KC for the week and was wondering if there is any flying activity around here?

   Unfortunately, C/L is breathing it's last breaths around Kansas City.  I used to fly quite a bit until my knees went south. ...... The old Sky Devils club is gone as are the other prominent clubs of yesterday's KC activity.  The only hope you have is making contact with ..... JOHN HOLIDAY, DAVE TRIBLE OR GARY MEYERS, who, as individuals are still pretty active fliers in this area.  They are on this board and may chime in with some information about flying sites they routinely use.   Good Luck.

KC has some C/L going on at lake Jacomo R/C flying field, Have grass area with asphalt pad for take off. Here are some contact numbers.

Glenn are you on the Missouri side or Kansas side of the KC area?  I'm located is Shawnee KS and we have a grass circle that is a little rough, but I have planes you can fly from/on the circle.   Other info at bottom of post.

Thanks John! We are in the Gladstone area (North KC on the MO side). We are in town helping our kids remodel their kitchen so I’m uncertain when I’m going to have any free time right now! I’ll let you know if I’m going to have time to run over and visit.

Glenn I'm in the Gladstone area also. Jacomo flyig site is 40 mins away. No way to know if C/L guy's would be there or not. I'm still working full time hard for me to get out on weekday unless I can make advanced plans with someone and go after work around 4pm. If you want give me a call this afternoon discuss some options.

Glenn we are about the same as Darwin on the Kansas side.  Doc and I are really the only ones using our circle to which you and everyone are totally welcome to come and use but I am working, trying to get out after work on better weather days and days off.  Doc is retired and will be a better shot to meet you during the day.  I DO plan to be there pretty early the next couple mornings before the wind comes up to mow and fly a bit.  The forecast is saying it won't be much fun after noon both days and not settling much in the evening which it does normally.
