Any Central VA C/L'ers
« on: February 23, 2008, 07:23:17 AM »
Are there any Central Virginia control liners out there?   I have been flying radio control for 25+ years and have finally taken the plunge into control line.  One of the members of my R/C club brought out a couple of old C/L planes to the field last fall and I was hooked.  We have cut a grass circle at our field and now there are 2 of us!  I built a Brodak Super Clown (less flaps) bought a TF Flite Streak ARF (flown, crashed, rebuilt, repeat) and now am building a Sig Skyray.  The club is the Fluvanna County R/C club located near Charlottesville, VA.  Any controliners in the area are welcome to come out.  (AMA membership required)  Our clubs website is www.fcrcfc.org for directions.
It's only paranoia if they aren't really after you.

Hey David!

There are a few Central VA people out there.  In Richmond, Jimmy Paul and Bill Ballinger still fly at a site just west of the city.  I live in Williamsburg and trade off between flying with the Richmond crew or the Norfolk Aeromodelers in VA Beach.  John Rakes lives south of Charlotteville in Lynchburg.

Thats pretty much the sum total of Central Virginia people.

Hey David    John Rakes from Lynchburg Va. Always looking for others in the area to do some flying. Believe me an hour and a half is very near by for me. I can make a road trip on any weekend, so any
time your up for it let me know. I sent you a private message with my cell #. Also there is a Ron King in the Culpepper area that is a super guy to hook up with and do some flying. I am surprised he did not reply.
