Gordan Delaney's Latest Pathfinder 2014
« on: October 04, 2014, 03:57:07 PM »
I had a great visit with Gordan Delaney last weekend.  He recently finished his latest Pathfinder.  It's a beautiful plane and Gordan indicated that it is an absolutely joy to fly.  Powered by a LA46.

It was fun to see all of his great planes, and to listen as he related the history and evolution of the Pathfinder design throughout the years.
Also pictured is my brother Curtis Williams, holding the earlier, somewhat larger version of the Pathfinder which was in need of some repair to its aging Monokote.

Oh, and for those that have only seen the "contest face" or the even more fierce, "combat face" of Gordan...here is living proof that he does smile!

Laser-cut, "Ted Fancher Precision-Pro" Hard Point Handle Kits are available again.  PM for info.

To answer some question, what has been changed from the Ken Smith kit and the Bodak kits. Ken Smiths kit had 675sq. inches.  Brodak kits has 630 sq.inches. On my own Pathfinder I shortened the tail moment to 16 inches. Nose moment stayed the same. On the one Brent posted these pics. I use a molded leading edge sheeting. Total weight came in at 44.6 oz. with OS 46 LA.
Hope this answers some of the questions.

Randy,
Don`t know yet. I`m still have feet problems. Makes it hard to keep my balance. Mainly on the reverse wing over, vertical eight, Hourglass, and the over head eight.
That pretty much puts me about 400 points. mw~ :'(

Gee Gordon, I thought it was just old age that caused the problem of balance in the circle. LL~ LL~ I  did do most of the pattern last time out flying without falling on my kister.l
