Another one of my Ugly Planes
« on: August 25, 2010, 04:40:22 PM »
Hi guys,

My brother got one of the Nobler ARF's that had a bad control horn, yes he wrecked the plane. We saved the wing and decided to make something a little different. The wing is the nobler wing the fuse is the ares fuse the stab and elevator is something we threw up. Your correct it isn't nothing great but for those that has wrecked their toy there is always something ya can do with it. If nothing else have some fun. The plane flys very well, no one else doesn't have one like her, I'm sure most would mistake it for the nobler cause of the wing. I'm powering her with one of the great Merco 40's. The spinner isn't on the plane at this time but the spinner is one of the froom spinners I bought off of Robert when he was trying out e-bay on this forum. I know all of us old guys need a laugh so look at this baby and have your laugh, its good for ya.  A little change of subject, Hey!!!! Matt great job, flying expert after just a few years playing with these toys. Maybe someday we'll run across ya and say hi. Bet your grandpa very proud of ya, I know the rest of this forum is.

Good Luck, Have Fun and Thanks for reading this junk

I like it. The main thing is how does it fly. Enjoy your new design.

Hi Gene and Ray,

Thank you I appreciate your nice remarks. The plane seems to fly very well, I haven't done the complete pattern with her. Friday is her big day, she is going to fly the complete pattern or die. I've just flown short flights for trimming. So far haven't had to do anything special mostly problems with new engine, (break in) I believe the engine is ready, so away she will go. I like the bigger plane better but its nice to have a smaller plane cause they don't pull as hard. The Zero that was given to me bye this forum has a ST 46 living in her and man that plane is a tigre. The picture really doesn't do the plane justice, she shines better in real life. After my day at the field this coming Friday I'll report back, hope with good news. I really appreciate your input, I'm just trying to show others that not all of us can do a great job on their toys. I do the best I can and cry a lot.

Hi guys,

We made a run at flying the pattern Friday with no luck. The tank just didn't want to work for me, I ended up making another tank. The best thing that happened Friday was that a very pretty little lady was admiring my plane. She looked to be around two, could talk very well, blond with blue eyes and pigtails,  her dad was interested in the control line planes and was talking to me about them. The little girl asked me if she could touch the plane, I told her yes but she had to be very careful cause they break very easy. She asked me what Woody was doing in the plane (The charactor in Toy Story) I told her Woody likes to fly so we're just letting him fly my plane. She seems to be very well behaved little one. Her dad started talking to me be about the planes and our club, next thing we know the pretty little girl is carrying off the plane. She told her dad I was to old to be playing with Woody and Woody is her toy!!!! The best part, she didn't cry she just started tell her dad all the reasons she should take the plane home with her. I was laughing so hard I couldn't stand up, the dad didn't know what to do????? She didn't hurt the plane but I got a lot of dirty looks from that cutie as they drove off.  What a great day and yes the plane fly great and everytime I look at that plane I'll see a pretty little girl carrying it off. WoW or maybe MoM if ya turn it over, Gary

Hi guys,

She does a very nice pattern, just a few more trim issues and I think I may have another winner. I removed the merco 40 and she has a OS 46 LA in her now. I used the OS 40 FP Muffler cause its a little smaller and looks better, to me. I can't believe what a nice corner she makes, lands like a dream and if the 46 leans out what a scream????? The Merco was doing a good job, just wanted to see if more power would help some of the trim issues???? Power always seems to hide some items??? Thanks Greg for the kind  words but I'm not afraid to say shes ugly??? Of coarse there is a two year old out there that would tell ya the plane should be at her house???? Ha Ha. We had a nice session today with this plane and I do believe its Score-letto's turn to burn some circles, so this coming Sunday I believe she'll be in the circle. Gary
