One more reason to covet your "junk box", I think.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

It appears to have a "wipe" spark timer, similar to "slag" engines of the past (Genie, Rogers, Thor, etc.)  But it isn't any of those.

Nope, it's not a wipe timer.
Points, similar to an O&R.

OK.  Does it appear to have a steel sleeve? Could be aluminum on aluminum, similar to "slag"?

That's what I thought: one of those old AHC slag engines - Buzz, Genie, Thor, Judco or whatever they were named.

It looks like a 1946 Vivell Forty - Niner.

Bob, It definitely is a "Duce 49", manufactured in 1943 in Maccia Bel Fatorri (sp?) Italy which is near Campoboso.  It was a by product of El Duce's often overlooked aircraft factory located near Monte Cassino.  While my Italian laungage  has slipped over the years I believe the "Duce 49"  had as it's nickname "Spasay Morte"

Randy:my "junk box" is a box full of engines I've accumulated over the past 25 years. They are all unmarked or unidentifiable. If you wish, I can post pictures of some of the other "orphans".
