Dennis Adamisin's Mythbuster has inspired me to go electric. So,
I stopped by the hobby shop yesterday, my buddy John Grigsby
hooke me up with a nice motor setup and 3 hours later I'm ready to
go flying.
The winds will have to die down a little, though. The new Baby Furias
is built for calm air. With a 9 in. wing span and 15 sq. in. of wing area
she weighs in at a whopping 16 grams. I just knew I could build
light! Power is from the Park Zone Ember with a geared motor/prop
combo. Pressing the button on the handle delivers the power from
the battery (2 AA) pack which I keep in my pocket while flying.
Finish is the always reliable and very light Sharpie method. It's pretty
easy and quick. First, you take a Sharpie and start drawing and coloring
on your plane, then you take another Sharpie and repeat step one
until you're finished. Now, you're finished.
This one should be a hoot to play with.
