Title: Another Monday........
Post by: frank carlisle on April 03, 2006, 07:28:03 AM: Well it's Monday again and time to go out and earn a living. I'm into home remodeling and repair. All winter long I've gotten little jobs like leaky faucets and paintng and plaster repair. Today I get to tear out a basement bath ( I love demolition!) and then put in a new one. This will involve knocking some holes in the floor and adding a drain for a new shower. Building some walls. Adding some electric and plumbing. All the fun stuff and best of all I get to build as heavy as I want.
A wall frame is very similar to a wing. I'll be up to Home Depot tomorrow selecting 2x4s as carefully as I would balsa. My DeWalt and Ryobi tools use NiCad batteries. Instead of glue I'll be using screws. But essentially I'll be building. And getting paid to do it. Ahh.........like is just so darn good.

whirl pool tubs are fun. Heavy, but fun. Installing one always leads to more work. Generally you gotta tear up a good piece of wall to get the old tub out. Then re-do the wall when you get the new tub in. Then a new line for the eletric. Like I said--FUN
I just checked your profile but you haven't listed your town. So I imagine that since I haven't seen you at the local circles it would be quite a commute.

Put me up for a week or two, feed me and take me flying everyday and you got a darn deal.

Post by: frank carlisle on April 04, 2006, 06:51:54 AM: I built one of them a few years back. The homeowner helprd. It took about a month of 4 or 5 hour days. It was mostly made up of doowalls. Lots of light. and ventilation. It was 14 ft. X 18 ft. Built it onto the back of his house. It came out very nice. The total came out to about $10.000. Or around 50% of one of the advertised building companies.
