In Canada we’ve had two drone/aircraft strikes in the last year. Both drones were commercial sized and operated by police. One struck a police helicopter causing close to $200,000.00 in damages and the more recent one struck a Cessna 172 training aircraft on final approach to land. This midair resulted in light damage to the propellor and substantial damage to the cowl.

Fortunately there were no injuries to the aircraft occupants.

Unfortunately since it was police flying these illegally operated drones no one has been charged in either incident.

Par for the course I guess.

I'd hope you would contact Transport Canada and inquire about those incidents...at least once a week! Perhaps Chris Cox would be able to give you a person to contact, since he's recently retired. The police need to do it right and set a shining example for those of us who are just now getting our drones into the skies!  ;)  LL~ Steve

At least if it was registered they'll be able to find the owner.  LL~

Now the taliban have a bunch of drones to play with.
I may be wrong but I doubt it.
