Another dreaded BOM suggestion.

Before I begin I want to say that I support the BOM rule (I'm not going to beat this to death by filling this post with my position on that).  Looking at some of the arguments a big area of contention seemed to be any parts purchased.  Could we maybe come up with a system where points are awarded based on the percentage of how much the pilot built themselves?  I don't know what the criteria would be but maybe this could be a compromise between both camps rather than going to opposite corners and coming out swinging at the bell.

Keep in mind this was just thought put out for discussion and "revision".

  This was aeready hashed over with my suggestion some months back and was (more or less) thought to be a possible solution to the present stand-off of the pro and anti BOM sides.  However it was not received with enough entheusm earliy enough to get it in for this rules proposal cycle.  Check past discussions on this item  for more.  As of right now, we are in a hold situation until this rules proposal cycle is past and the next one begins.  We shall see.

My bad, didn't mean to try and steal your idea.  I hope this gets some more thought instead of the same back and forth stuff we've seen.

  no problem james.  I even miss a lot of the stuff that gets posted here.  I was just trying to get something thay would satisfy both sides while maintaining the tradition of building our own models while rewarding those who DO try to "improve the appearances of their ARFs and ARCs.
