Title: Another Blue Angels Clip
Post by: john e. holliday on April 10, 2013, 05:36:18 AM
Over on "Plane-A-Day"  he has a video of the Blue Angels.   It may be short, but I think one of the better ones.

What's the cost of a Blue Angels demo' vs. the cost of another Presidential family outing to Hawaii at taxpayer expense for another round of golf with his buddies?

"Sequestration" . . . what a joke!!!

Whenever I see any of our armed forces doing demonstrations I am quite proud, and I am very happy to pay my taxes to support it. There are far more ways taxpayers are getting ripped off these days than a few airshows.

Blue angels, Americas favorite waste of tax payers money.

Only someone who has never served would make that kind of statement.

Amen, Bill...
And on a further note, I might add:

Blue Angels... Better to have them and not need them, than to need them...

Not to jump on your case Motorman,(this is a free forum) but air demos are important. WWII ace Chuck Yeager, decided to fly because he saw an air demo when he was young. A lot of bad Nazis bit the dust because Chuck. Air demos are one of the primary means of recruitment for the United States Air Force. One Air Force General said at an Air show that, if we could get just one Chuck Yeager out of this whole crowd, the effort would be worth it.

I think he misspelled "sequestration", when he really meant "Si, castration!".   SH^ Steve

You either have really big cojonies or are a complete moron to make that statement on a forum populated with a ton of ex-military guys. I'm guessing the latter.

Getting close to getting Sparky warning us again of berating people.   I took my son to every air show we could attend.   These pilots need airtime and practice.   how better than showing the people how well they can control those power houses.   That goes for all the demo teams.   One show I seen, I beleive was two C-130's.   They took off in formation in a way.  One after the other.  Made a what I guess was a high speed pass the length of the runway.   At the end one made a hard 180 to turn back for a landing.   The other one went into a big pattern around the field.   The one making the hard turn came around and landed.   Backed up and stopped just as the unloading ramp hit the pavement.   A jeep came off the plane and the plane started accelerating down the runway.   Just as he got to altitude the second plane was joining up with him so they could make another pass down the runway.  Probably not as spectacular as the Blue Angels or the Thundeerbirds, but a show of what our military and do.

Now motorman I hope I am not standing next to you when they play our national anthem and you don't put your hand over your heart or if in uniform(whch I doubt you would be), be ready to get laid out.   Uncle Sam didn't want me but I still respect our military and what they do.

It is the Soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press;
It is the Soldier, not the poet who has given us the freedom of speech;
It is the Soldier, not the community organizer who has given us freedom to demonstrate,
It is the Soldier-- Who salutes the flag; Who serves beneath the flag; and whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protestor to burn the flag.

I have been told by several folks who should know, that the Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels are the most cost effective recruiting tools - recruits per dollar spent - that either service has.  the AF ad Navy brass are quite frustrated that they have not had the final say in how these cuts are implemented.

I did read that the Blues will continue to practice even though the shows have been cancelled.  i have not heard.read the same for the TBs but I assume they will continue to practice as well.

On an open forum that looks like a slam dunk law suit, you want to apologize for that statement? I'm sure there are some out of work lawyers in CA.

MM

Nope.
