My mistake, Rusty - I think Eastwood sells only anodizing kits.

I know a guy that, at one time, had Eastwood's kit.

I don't believe they come out all that well. Ask me how I know?

OK, seeing you asked.

He did a few spinners for me but came up short on the red color. They are kinda pink.

Well, maybe not pink, but not red either.

If really interested I'll get a photo. Might be worth the laugh.

If solvent removes the "anodize" then it's not anodize it's paint! Anodize is a conversion coating that is actually Aluminum Oxide with dye added for coloration.

It doesn't come off in solvent! It has to be mechanically removed.

I did some anodizing back in school (long time ago). It's more difficult than it looks to get a nice, even finish. Paint is easier, and using high-temp engine enamel will last a while.

Hi Rusty,

There is a guy here in the Carolinas (maybe Charlotte area) who does custom Cox engines and also does high quality anodizing. I have talked with him through email several times about redoing a McCoy .60 Red Head. This was before my cancer journey so about 3 years ago. I am so sorry that I cannot remember his name or the company name. He is reasonable!

Glen Lee (speed flier) was doing it a while ago. Don't know if he does it for hire.
