Does anyone have a source for anodizing aluminum spinners? Modeler friendly.
I tried Tru-Turn, where I got them, but they don't offer the service to spinners that have already been cut. They have theirs plated before machining for the prop.
Local shop wants 100.00 minimum charge.
Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried it, but I've seen more than one web page on home-shop anodizing. Apparently soft anodizing is not that hard -- and I think that's all you really need. I think there's even places that sell kits.
Your guess on how to Google for it is as good as mine.
Be aware that you can use a lot of different dyes in the anodizing process, but not all of them result in the color you expect -- you may have to experiment a bit to get the color you want (and the reds may fade anyway).

There was a time Windy had someone that was doing that for spinners and LG.
You might also try AeroProducts. I know Randy had some for a while. (yup, I got some!)

Try Eastwood Automotive supplies.
They might have what you need.

I don't want to start plating. Thanks but no thanks. ;D
There are vendors who travel, and plate gold on cars, have for some time, and it does hold up well.
However, I just want to mail the thing to some plating shop, have it plated, and sent back.
KISS.

Anodizing isn't plating.
It does involve electricity and chemicals, which is as good a reason as any not to want to mess with it, but it's still not plating.

How many spinners do you want anodized? Is it clear anodize or color?
There is a company here in town that manufactures marine components. They have one building strictly for anodizing, since most of their products are aluminum. Years back, when I had my manufacturing company, they were a customer of mine. I might poke around and see if anybody I knew is still there. Maybe your spinner could take a free ride...
No promises, but give me a few days.

Dick,
That's kind of you and thank you. Let me know what you find out?
However, I now have a plan B in the works. I just need more stuff to have "professionaly" anodized to make up for the cost.
Thanks again!
