The list is missing about 20 flights put up at Napa CA at the Tichy Memorial Contest. I think Jim Aron may have the details.

Thanks. I wondered about what happened to the Napa group. I did not receive any report from Jim.

FANTASTIC NEWS!! For a while I thought we would not have met our goal.  Glad to see that the Portland, OR total includes fellow "Fireballs" club members from Eastern WA have been counted. BTW, here are some great pictures for your perusal of many of the planes that were flown in the NW. Find them at <Flying Lines.org>

Ha, I guess we know where old Ringmaster pilots end up. Thinking of moving to FL myself.

A big thumbs-up for the single pilot in North Dakota who put up 56 flights.  BW@

US states that did not participate are: Connecticut (CT), Delaware (DE), Hawaii (HI), Kentucky (KY), Massachusetts (MA), Mississippi (MS), Missouri (MO), Montana (MT), Nebraska (NE), Ohio (OH), Rhode Island (RI), South Dakota (SD), Vermont (VT), West Virginia (WV), Wisconsin (WI), and Wyoming (WY).

May be next year, we may have some fliers fill those gaps.  y1

I also know there were some Ringmaster flights that weekend at the Tulsa Gluedobbers field... I saw them flying (I was flying vintage combat planes... didn't have a Ringmaster at the time)... but I don't know if said flights were duly reported.

So, there may have been even more flights that could be added!
Searching to find my new place in this hobby!

They were reported. Per John Cralley's data, there were 5 fliers and 11 flights with the Tulsa Gluedobbers. Oklahoma City had 4 fliers and 20 flights.

Below are files for the Final Grand Tally for this years (2015) Ringmaster Fly-A-Thon.

The results far exceeded my expectations!! 3487 flights and 684 pilots.

Control Line Modelers once again showed that this hobby is alive!!

For the Brotherhood of the Ring I thank everyone who flew with us!! You have promoted Control Line modeling and celebrated the wonderful hobby of model airplane building and flying!

Well Done!!

For those interested, attached is a summary comparison of the 3 Fly-A-Thon results by state/province and nation from 2013 to 2015.

Had a good telephone conversation with John Cralley this morning. We talked for about a half hour. Attached is the latest version I forwarded to him along with MS Excel 2003 format for editing and inclusion in various newsletters and media as needed. Joey Mathison and Richard Grogan are properly mentioned as the creators of the Fly-A-Thon. I've taken my name off it, as there were a number of individuals as contributors to the promotion, data collection and dissemination, which I am only a small part of.

It took a whole team of individuals to make this fly-a-thon work, to include those overseas and locally who promoted it with their fliers and their communities. As you see, the numbers have grown since 2013. Next year I think it possible to have even a greater outcome, as others post word to their friends, acquaintances and other clubs.

CL is normally not defined as being a drone due to its tethered nature. It requires skill to fly the complete AMA or other competition patterns. Perhaps in places where RC flight is restricted could provide an outlet for RC'ers who have been bitten by the CL bug. CL is definitely not dead by any means, as shown by these numbers, which are increasing.

I think you all will like these numbers. Thanks, John for keeping the synergy going and all the background work, along with others who made this a success. And thanks for allowing me to do a small part in helping to provide these summary results.

The results files are also posted in the "Contest results" even though this event is not exactly a contest.
