I want to build a Circus King, but the plan I found online is too low resolution to read the text when enlarged.  Does anyone have a file for the plan with better resolution?

Hello Dave, I have seen the controlline.com plans in person; there is absolutely
nothing illegible about those plans. it seems that you tried to scale up the tiny
plans image from the online picture. That will not work.

Please follow Tony Drago's advice, and order them from Mears. you will get a very
nice Circus King plan that is accurate and completely legible.

The Circus King is a really neat plane.
What Ty said is true - a "modified" ringmaster.
Better looking, I think.
As far as I know, Matt Kania designed both of them.
My hometown is Vineland, NJ.
The PDQ factory was at the airport in an adjoining town, Millville, NJ.
There were a number of long block buildings that were used for barrack during the war.
When they became vacant, many were rented out to small businesses.
My Dad actually took me to visit PDQ sometime in the early 50s.
The photo shows me in around 1956 (?) with an assortment of planes I built.
The King is at the far left, powered by a very early silver head Fox Combat Special, which I still have!
Many fond memories.
Mike Keville may remember going to Millville, possibly also visiting PDQ.

the Circus King was about one rib shorter in each stde than the Ringmaster and better looking . it was the first big plane I flew, had a K&B 35 green head in it ,was fast for its time. I now have a Ringmaster that I re shaped to look like a Circus King

                   I have been building and flying C/L planes since 1953.  In all that time, the only Circus King I ever saw built from a PDQ kit and flown was in 1955.  It was built by a flying buddy who flew many designs, including several Ringmasters (K&B .35 Greenheads).  He also built and flew one Circus King (K&B Greenhead).  I always thought the Circus King was an interesting design but I did see that this one flew somewhat differently than a Ringmaster.  It appeared not quite as agile and turned somewhat differently than a Ringmaster.  Over the years, I had always planned to build one, but never did obtain a kit.  I did bid on a Circus King or two offered on Ebay, but when the price ballooned into collector price territory, I dropped out.  I think is is a design worth building, especially by those who want to experience the flavor of control line flying in the 1950's, 60's, and 70's.
