As of now, the Middlesex Modelers Annual Stunt Contest is on for this Sunday, August 2nd at the North Branch Park RC Field, 355 Milltown Road, Bridgewater, NJ. Weather forecast is calling for thunder showers, but still a bit early as we all know this can change quickly. Events will include 4 classes of PAMPA and one class of OTS. $10 fee covers all events. No BOM. Pilots meeting will be at 9:30 AM. Three circles will be available, two for competition and one for practice. As a number of our normal judges are unavailable, I will be looking for volunteers to help with the judging. Please let me know if you can help.
Please bring a mask as you need to wear one if in close distance to others. The plan is to send out for pizza as we can’t cook there with the Covid restrictions.
Any questions, give me a call: 908-334-7579

There is a Porta-Potty large there with paper and hand sanitizer. Just checked this morning. Field is in great shape. Just hope the weather holds out.

Bob:
Checked a number of weather sites and they are all different. Best forecast was the the local airport site that says 45% chance of thunder showers between 11 and 2. Don't think anybody really knows. As of now our plan is to go ahead.

Guess nobody flew. Almost dead calm here in KC. D>K

We flew. Pretty decent turnout for the forecast. Fred is correct the wind was very difficult. Unfortunately there were a few casualties.
Regardless, it was a great day with the local gang. Thanks to the Philly gang for the huge support!!
Best,

Want to thank everybody who attended and those who helped out. Was great to see everybody and despite a bit of wind, the flying was competitive. Here are the results, also posted in the Events Results thread.

Great day at the contest. Think we got more wind burn than sunburn. Got quite hot in the afternoon when the clouds passed. Thanks to Jim and his guys and all the volunteers for a good day.
-
Thanks to all who came out. The biggest thrill was getting to see 'our people' which is a rare event these days! TS

Good to see you had your contest. Looks like you had fun. Hard to get that theses days

Forget to mention that someone left a folding lawn chair at the field. I have it. If you left it, just let me know and we can get it back to you.
