Late last year a very good buddy of mine gave me a number of control line models that his friend's father had built. He passed away and none of his kids were interested in keeping any of the airplane stuff he had. One plane was a large old timer free flight with a Baby Cyclone on it. I was hoping to save the plane but the wood was in such bad shape from the years hanging in garage it would be easier to scratch build one instead. I will try post some more photos of the other planes in the future. There was a SIG Fokker D7 that he built, which is my favorite biplane! The silkspan he used was the lightest grade and I kept putting holes in the wings,  just by grabbing the plane when I patched it up with heavy silkspan. I bolted up a really nice running McCoy Redhead .35 I bought off eBay. Swapped out the aluminum bell crank with nylon 3" unit, replaced the main wheels with some DB lights and threw on an older unused tank I had laying around from another project.I called it good enough for a test flight and flew it on the Ringmaster weekend earlier this month. The outer wing was staying high while flying level, so I will add a weight box and adjust it. Pretty good line tension and I love looking at the plane while it is flying. In the future I plane on repainting the fuselage and recovering the wings.

I got the fuselage and some parts from the one my late younger brother built when we were teenagers, and I have the fuselage from the Spad I built at the same time. I need to rebuild both. I have the kits for both also so no problem. Rebuild them with some attention to alignments and such from what I have read about building biplanes in recent history and they should fly pretty well. This one of yours looks pretty good in the photos. Time for a SIG Biplane Stunt class!!??
  Type at you later,

Well I thought I had pics of my SIG Fokker, but all I could find were construction shots.   So after pulling it off the hook and cleaning all the dirt off it I took some photoes.  Also test ran the Fox 25. D>K
