Here is my Magnum completed in Tom Morris's shop in November 1996.
Rest in peace Bigfoot as my wife called it. %^
It met it's fate in practice for the '02 Nats. Oh well, sometime Excelsior will get done. ;D
It did its share of winning and placing. 9th at 1997 Nats Advanced. My first contest flying in Advanced too.

Hay Jim, Are you going to resurect this beauty? You responded to a post of mine about a year ago regarding the use of an OS .30s in an original Tutor. I tried it and found it to be adequate but not stellar. Replaced it with a $15.00 flea market FP .40 and was truly pleased! Unfortunately I flew this set up in a near gail and splattered it! I have just sat the remains in a corner and just might bring it back some winter night while the 6" of partly cloudy acumulates out there on the driveway!

It was unresurectable. The engine was buried about 11"underground on John Simpson's muddy taxiway. Wings in about 6 pieces. fuselage in three pieces. "Totaled if you will.
Soo, I would resurect a likeness of it if I could ever find another Magnum Kit for $50.00.
Yeah, that OS .30 probably didn't have enough umph for a standard Tutor unless it was mighty light. Same reason that I'm going to use my FP .35 on the new Dolphin instead of a Magnum Pro .25 that I originally had programmed for it.
