Does anybody out there have an old set of plans, or kit for the Ambroid Maverick?

Sorry Norm, I don't but I must say I really like the paint scheme on this example.

Norm, You gonna go Rat Racin' now??? y1

What company did Ambriod buy out to get those designs? Was it Consolidated or Berkley, maybe?
A few Ambroid kits, like the Stuka were their own work, but most were repackaged designs from a older company. If we can recall that company, we may have the key finding the plans.

I got a little case of "nostalgia" after reading about an Ambroid Whipsaw. Funny you should mention "Rat Racin," my first Rat was a McCoy powered Maverick and it flew quite well. Just thought it would be fun to fly one again. H^^

Sticking my nose in here let me remind one and all that the Ambroid "Maveick" is not the same as the Sterling "Maverfick" the first CL kit by Sterling. The later brings back fond memories of 1949 when we could build the Maverick at a $1 cost and build it for any number of engines from .049 to an O & R .29! Mine was powered by an O & R .19 and it flew well until the en gine quit. The glide path was remarked as being "less than 1 to 1! If I get a chance I will photo my Maverick kit and built plane soon.

Hi Norn
I do believe I do have one of those kits in my assorted collection of kits. When I get home from work tonight I will take a look and see if the plans are full size or not.

Hi Norm
I do have a kit for a profile called the Maverick, 23" span, 20" long, for .09 - .19 size engines. The kit was made by Enterprise. I believe it is the same plane you have pictured. Unfortunately, the plans are not full scale.
The wing on this model is a solid wing and there isn't a lot to the kit. I would be happy to send you a copy of the plan and possibly make patterns for the parts if you like. Send me your address and I will try to get that done over the weekend for you.

Good call Dalton! I have a poor picture of the box art of the Enterprise Maverick and look at the paint scheme!

"That be the one." #^ I built mine around 1960-61 and modified it to fly rat race. Considering what I wound up with,(limited funds, equipment and knowledge) that little plane was not a disappointment.
Norm
BTW: Thanks Dalton and Robert

This is a neat looking little profile. I think it might be a good candidate for one of my old Gilbert .11s. I might consider that after I get a couple planes off my building table..........
