Does anyone know of this club, the Salisbury Hawks?

We are trying to track down one of their clubmembers from the 2009 Brodak Fly-In.

A young man named Mason Brown was give a plane at the 2009 Fly-In.

For a CL World article, we are trying to find out the name of the gent who gave him the plane. It was a blue Ringmaster with an LA 25, a broken fuselage and "Salisbury Hawks" on the wing.
Apparently the guy was also selling engines out of his van or trailer.

Hi Bob

Mason Brown went to Brodaks with me in 2009 as a last minute thing.  He was just starting into CL flying and had not yet made his first solo flight.  He did that at Brodaks with one of Mike Danfords Planes.   It took me a while to track down who gave him the Ringmaster along with an LA .25.   The gentleman's name was Dennis Hastings.

As an update,  Mason rebuilt that plane over that night and had it flying shortly after his solo flight.  He is really taken with our hobby and is an active member of the Bean Hill Flyers and is even flying during the winter up here whenever he can trying to get to the Beginner Stunt circle  this June.

I will post a picture of  Mason and the latest rebuild of the Ringmaster.

Bob

I'd like to add another note to the information about Mason.   My understanding of the plane is he was looking at some engines a vendor was selling and mr Hastings was there and talking with hiim.   Mason ws looking for some used equipment to add to what he had to get started and Mr. Hastings told him if he would rebuild the Ringmaster he could have it.   That was not the only kindness that Mason ran into either,  I believe John Saunders gave him a set of lines and since then  Sumner Forrest and Denny Thomas have also helped keep him going.

   CL is a great family....

Bob

Every time I type I leave important stuff out.  Another very important person involved there with Mason was Mike Danford who always takes time to teach the kids at Brodaks to fly if they want to learn.  He spent a lot of time with mason and I (he's much better at teaching than I am) and after a couple of hours allowed Mason to use the training profile whenever he wanted.

Again ---  all great people there......

Bob,

Dennis Hastings flies with us.  He doesn't have an email address, but I can get ahold of him for you, or I can call him and get him to contact you, just let me know.
