Title: AMA Presidential Candidates
Post by: Robert Zambelli on October 05, 2011, 05:52:56 PM
I guess the candidates are up for 2012 election.

Jim Rice is on the (website) ballot and as I understand, he is a C/L flyer and friend of the late George Aldrich. Flew stunt as I recall.
Anyone know him? Seems like it would be a refreshing change to have an AMA leader who is interested in our area of the sport.

Discussion?

Hi Bob
Gary Fitch is also on the ballot......he has dusted off his control line stuff twice to fly with the GSCB, and is a nice guy the wrote a sane response to the jet/modeler/terrorist deal.
Here is what he wrote on the District II web site:

"I believe that almost every AMA member is a law abiding citizen, concerned about the future of their hobby.  AMA members are the first line of defense concerning any suspicious model aviation activity and will report said activity to authorities and then to AMA.  Because of this I believe we can turn this negative into a positive in the eyes of the non-modeling community".

Sane, no finger pointing....

Have fun!

How's the new digs? And why would you move from one fly-in community to another?

If a potential candidate were an avid C/L modeler, they would likely get my vote.

My write-in candidate is always Howard Rush. He's a cool cat, and so is Spencer.  y1 Steve
